About Catalyst

Our History

Helping Corporations and Counsel Manage Electronic Discovery and Collaborate on Complex Legal Matters for More Than a Decade

Catalyst began providing secure, scalable document repositories in 1998, when the team was part of a large law firm. Our first case involved trillion-dollar litigation (literally) brought against the oil and gas industry. It continued for almost a decade and involved over 300 professionals on the defense team. By 2000, we were providing our litigation technologies and services to law firms around the country, even in cases where our own lawyers weren't involved.

Today, clients around the world turn to Catalyst to help control litigation and regulatory costs and to make review teams more effective. We cover the heart of the litigation life cycle—from processing to search, analytics, review and production.

Our repositories help clients save money by reducing document populations and making reviewers more efficient. Our collaboration systems offer a central place to coordinate deadlines, tasks and other activities. Together, they provide an integrated platform used by many of the largest organizations in the world—including five of the world's 10 largest companies, four of the nation's 10 largest insurers and 80 of the nation's 100 largest law firms.

An Experienced Team

Catalyst was spun out of a large law firm by John Tredennick, a litigation partner with more than 20 years experience. Having literally "written the book" on litigation technology in 1990, Tredennick was named one of the Top Legal Technology Leaders in the World by London's CityTech Magazine. He brought with him an experienced team of litigation and technology professionals who have been working together on complex legal matters since the early 1990s.

Over the past decade, our team has grown to more than 100 legal and technology professionals. We've hosted thousands of matters for tens of thousands of users around the world. We're pleased to say that Catalyst was named Top Company and Top Technology Company in Colorado by two different organizations. Our CEO was named Entrepreneur of the Year and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year. And, our CFO was named CFO of the Year. Catalyst has repeatedly made the Colorado Fast 50 and Deloitte Fast 500 for rapid, profitable growth.
