John Tredennick Offers Perspectives on Privacy, Data Protection and Foreign Language Document Discovery at the Upcoming Master's Conference

Denver, Colorado, October 10, 2008-Catalyst announced today that CEO John Tredennick will speak this week at the Master's Conference, an annual forum focusing on electronic discovery preparedness.

Tredennick, a best-selling author of several legal technology books and a prolific speaker on electronic discovery issues, will lead a discussion on "Discovery Management in a Borderless Information Environment."

Tredennick will share the stage with Nigel Murray of Trilantic, an EU-based electronic discovery provider and another international leader on electronic discovery issues. The program, which takes place Thursday, October 16, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., will provide an overview of the legal and technical challenges of managing discovery across international borders and offer perspectives from both sides of the pond.

"Global litigation presents both technical and legal challenges when it comes to managing large volumes of multi-language documents located throughout the world," said Tredennick, who has written extensively on the topic for publications such as Law Technology News and the ABA's Web magazine Law Technology Today. "The goal of this program is to provide some straight-forward advice on how to simplify the process."

When the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection went into effect, it prohibited the transfer of personal data outside of the EU. The Safe Harbor program was designed to bridge the gap between European and U.S. data privacy regulations and allows U.S. companies that meet the requirements to store EU data on US soil.

The Safe Harbor session is just one of the highlights of the third annual Master's Conference, a two-day educational and networking event that exposes a select group of attorneys to industry leaders considered to possess "master's knowledge" of electronic discovery issues.
