Catalyst Releases CR 8.5 with Over 35 New Features
News 2009

Denver, Colorado, June 18, 2009. Catalyst Repository Systems today announced the release of CR 8.5. The release, scheduled for Wednesday June 24, includes over 35 user-requested features and enhancements. It represents the third release this year for Catalyst's flagship product and follows six major releases for CR in 2008.

"In this release we focused on the things our clients told us were most important to them," said John Tredennick, Catalyst's founder and CEO. "Review and early case assessment are two of the hottest items on the request list and we targeted many of the new features to meet that demand," he added. "Dual-monitor review, user-created review macros and new culling navigators are some of the more important offerings in this round."

Some of the new features in CR 8.5 include:

  • Support for dual monitor review to allow users to view documents and see more review fields and values.
  • Complete user creation and editing of review forms, including drag-and-drop functionality for up to six columns.
  • User-created macros for review forms to make tagging more efficient.
  • New review team folder trees to help administrators better supervise their review teams.
  • Email notifications to supervisors based on coding rules.
  • New results randomizer to allow QC reviewers to choose random documents from a batch.
  • User creation of secure document sub-collections.
  • New "More Like This" Functionality.
  • New culling navigators for custodians, sender and recipient domains.
  • New correlation navigator enhancements.
  • Equivio Compare added to CR Equivio integration for near dupes.

"During one of the worst recessions in history, we decided to push forward with new enhancements for CR," Tredennick explained. "Clients are looking for better workflow and new analytics capabilities to help make the discovery process more efficient and effective. Given that review is the most costly part of electronic discovery, we felt it important to keep adding features to CR as quickly as we can. Fortunately, we continue to thrive in this difficult market and look to be one of the long-term survivors as others drop out."
