Catalyst Announces Success of Fast Track Program
News 2009
Denver Colorado, July 20, 2009. Catalyst Repository Systems today reported that its Fast Track program was an unqualified success during its first six months of operation. Announced early this year, Catalyst's Fast Track program provides for automated data loading and indexing of data and documents into its flagship program Catalyst CR. The system allows partners and clients to transmit data to Catalyst electronically. Immediately after the load file and accompanying documents are received, Catalyst's automated procedures take over to ensure rapid and automatic loading into the appropriate site. "We initiated the Fast Track Program after almost a year in development to address one of our clients' main needs: rapid loading and indexing of data," explained John Tredennick, Catalyst's CEO. "With Fast Track, we were able to provide an automated FTP site for our clients to deliver data. From there we wrote the further automation processes to immediately start processing the delivery, check it for errors, and start the loading and indexing process. Overnight we went from two days for manual loading to automated loading in a matter of hours," he continued. "BIA relies on Catalyst's Fast Track because of its speed and efficiency," stated Daniel Rivera, Director, Review Solutions for BIA, a leading international information management company, headquartered in New York City, with additional locations in San Francisco, Seattle, and a central processing center in Southwest Michigan. "The automated system accurately loads our data with little or no human interaction to the repository site within hours when it used to take days," he added. "BIA applauds Catalyst's continued efforts to streamline the data flow process." "Our Fast Track program has been a huge success with our partners and clients," exclaimed TJ Gill, Catalyst's Vice President of Sales. "Just this month one of our larger partners submitted 231 Fast Track uploads (load file and files) between July 9th and July 17th for one case alone. Each of the uploads moved smoothly into the system in minutes or hours without need for human intervention. This allowed our client's review team to get working and move through the review as rapidly as possible." In another case, we received over 60 GB of compressed data in 14 different uploads. Using Fast Track, it was validated, processed, loaded and indexed within 10 hours of receiving the delivery. And in yet another example, we had 37 volumes come in over a 10 hour span for a site. All of the uploads were processed, loaded and indexed that same day. In the past, these uploads might have taken 48 hours or more depending on workload. Now, clients can watch the upload progress via Catalyst ST and know when they can start reviewing without having to wait for a technician to work on their uploads. "Automation is a key contributor to Catalyst's quality and scalability," noted Greg Berka, Catalyst's Director of Application Support. "Over the past two years, we have worked hard to automate as many of the underlying work processes as possible. Automation not only means that the work gets done more quickly, it means it can be done with fewer mistakes." "For example," Berka continued, "our Fast Track software checks load files for errors within seconds of their receipt. If we find errors, we notify the client to give them a chance to correct the problem. In the past, our technicians might not catch the error until later when they were commencing manual loading procedures. This meant further delay for the client as we tried to fix the file by hand," he continued. "Now problems surface immediately and can be addressed at the start of the process." Catalyst's Fast Track program is available to all clients and partners and is simple to use. All it requires are consistent load files in the MDB (Microsoft Access) format and a Zip file containing the related files. Working with Catalyst, one partner implemented a dedicated connection to the Catalyst servers with upload speeds approaching 10 GBs an hour. This allows the partner to push a substantial amount of data to Catalyst in a short amount of time and really take advantage of the benefits of automation.
