Catalyst Announces Price Reductions for 2009 Owing to Automation Gains
News 2009
Catalyst's reduces prices for site setup and data loading owing to efficiency gains on its new automated Fast Track program.Denver, February 2, 2009-Catalyst Repository Systems, a leading international provider of hosted document repositories for large-scale review and discovery management, today announced that it was reducing prices for several key services relating to its flagship product Catalyst CR by 33%. Catalyst also initiated new attractive pricing options for larger sites and multi-year sites. "Last year we invested in automating some of the key processes underlying our Catalyst CR infrastructure technology," explained John Tredennick, Catalyst's CEO. "Our clients told us they needed us to be able to create new sites and load data faster. Rather than hire more bodies, we felt that automation provided the better answer. By automating part of the system, we not only provide speed and scalability but we reduce the potential for mistakes," he added. "Making your system faster, cheaper and of better quality is like winning the Triple Crown of technology," noted TJ Gill, Catalyst's V.P of Business Development. "With corporate budgets under stress during these tough economic times, we were excited at the prospect of being able to reduce prices on our services without hurting our bottom line. It was a win for our clients without being a loss for us." "With Fast Track, we can set up a site in minutes, something which used to take us several hours and could only be done by our most senior technical people," explained Larry Barela, Catalyst's CTO. "By automating the data loading process as well, we took a process that lasted several days and compressed it into a few hours," he added. "Clients can be up and running on a new site within a day in some cases." "The decision to lower prices isn't always an easy one," stated Lew Visscher, Catalyst's VP of Finance and Administration. "We invested almost a year of time into building the Fast Track Program and need to recover from that investment. But, at the same time we want to pass on some of the benefit to our clients. We want to do everything we can to help during these hard times." "Fast Track setup prices apply to the setup of repeat sites for clients," said Gabe Luchetta, Catalyst's Product Manager for CR. "Once we have developed their initial site template, we can apply it more easily for successive rounds. This gives our clients speed and consistency, both of which are important to their users," he added. "The same principles apply for data loading. Once we build a schema for their data, clients can send data via FTP and have it indexing almost immediately."
