Catalyst Releases Insight for General Availability

Next Generation E-Discovery Platform Released at New York LegalTech

DENVER—Jan. 30, 2012—Catalyst Repository Systems, a pioneer in providing cloud-based document repositories for e-discovery and other complex legal matters, today announced the general availability of Catalyst Insight, its new, automated discovery platform. The first to be built around an XML database, Insight delivers lightning-fast search, visual analytics and real-time reporting, giving corporations and counsel they power they need to manage complex cases and regulatory investigations.

Announcing the release at the opening day of the 2012 LegalTech conference in New York City, John Tredennick, Catalyst’s founder and CEO, said that Insight is unlike any e-discovery platform now on the market. “We devoted extensive resources to developing an entirely new e-discovery platform. Insight uses the newest search technology available and can scale to handle the largest matters in the world, without the compromises required by other platforms.”

Catalyst engineered Insight to meet the most demanding requirements of modern litigation. Delivered from the cloud, it is the first e-discovery platform to harness the power of an XML engine, enabling it to combine metadata, tags and text in a unified, searchable data store.

Insight has multiple features that set it apart from other e-discovery platforms:

  • Powerful Search: Insight offers unprecedented speed for complex searches involving millions of documents. Track search choices for defensibility.
  • Visual Analytics: With Insight, your data speaks to you through field facets (instant counts), timelines and social networking diagrams—all updated instantly.
  • Unified Data Store: Search across fields, folders, tags and text in Insight’s unified XML structure. Indexing is immediate and always up to date.
  • Multi-Language Review: Search over 300 languages including the challenging Asian ones. Insight provides advanced language detection and tokenization.
  • Stunning User Interface: Insight’s UI is simple, intuitive and beautiful. It runs on all major operating systems—Mac, Windows and Linux.
  • Language Localization: One click and the interface adapts to the user’s language—Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German and more.
  • Real-Time Reporting: Create your own graphs and charts from results sets or set up your own reports on the fly—drill into your data directly.
  • End-to-End Automation: From processing through search, review and production—the control of a local appliance but none of the headaches.

Even though Insight is all new, it represents years of experience from a company that has been building award-winning litigation technology since the mid-1990s. A pioneer in litigation hosting, Catalyst was the first to offer true grid-based search, capable of easily handling millions of documents. Insight continues in that tradition as the first unified search repository optimized for terabytes of data.

Because it is delivered from the cloud, Insight can be deployed quickly, with no substantial start-up costs, and can be scaled to meet the demands of any size project. While it is cloud-based, it provides all the control of a locally installed appliance, but with superior speed and greater versatility.

LegalTech attendees can see Insight demonstrated by visiting Catalyst at Booth 2123.
