Catalyst CEO John Tredennick Named ‘Fastcase 50’ Honoree

Company Founder Recognized as a Legal Technology Innovator and Visionary

DENVER—July 24, 2012—John Tredennick, founder and CEO of Catalyst Repository Systems, has been named a recipient of the Fastcase 50 award. The award, from legal publishing company Fastcase, recognizes 50 of the smartest, most courageous innovators, techies, visionaries and leaders in the law. “John saw a problem and used technology to solve the issues for his firm, then created a company where those products were used by many of the world’s largest organizations including 5 of the world’s top 10 companies and 60 of the AmLaw 100 firms,” Fastcase said of Mr. Tredennick in naming him a recipient of the award.

A lawyer and technology expert, Mr. Tredennick is a longtime trailblazer in the field of e-discovery. Prior to founding Catalyst in 2000, he was a trial lawyer and litigation partner at Holland & Hart, the largest law firm in the Rocky Mountain West. He is a former chair of the ABA's Law Practice Management Section and past editor-in-chief of Law Practice magazine. He also founded and was an editor of the ABA Webzine Law Practice Today.

Over the past two decades, Mr. Tredennick has written or edited five best-selling books and countless articles on litigation and technology issues. He was named one of the "Top 100 Global Technology Leaders" by London's CityTech magazine and served as a member of the Short Course Faculty at the University of Virginia Law School, where he taught the course, "Electronic Discovery in a Global Environment."

This is the second year in which Fastcase has honored legal innovators with its Fastcase 50 award. In addition to Mr. Tredennick, this year’s list includes notable judges, legal scholars, industry CEOs, the general counsels of both Apple and Google, authors, journalists and IT professionals.
